Skelton named MMKAC's Athlete of the Year

John Skelton was voted the Athlete of the Year at the annual Marshall Milton Keynes Athletics Club awards for 2017.

John completed a double at the European Masters Championships in Denmark winning both the M65 1500 and 5000m. Earlier in the year he produced the same double to win the British Masters Championships. He set a UK record over 3000m with a time of 10.10.82.

Chris Hearn was awarded the Sportsperson Trophy and Rick Townsend took the Club Person of Year Award.

Other major awards went to Mick Lee (Development Coach), Diane Baldwin (Official of the Year),Barry Hearn (Performance Coach), Steve Tuttle (Swain Winter), Maxwell Brown (Swain Summer), Ebony Carr (Women’s Summer), Lara Bromilow (Women’s Winter), Kayleigh Presswell (UK Women’s League) and Robert Lewis and Emma Beardmore (Southern Athletics League).
