The 2015 Oxford & North Bucks (ONB) counties came to exciting conclusion recently, with CMK swimmers enjoying another successful championship.
CMK set five South East England records: Max Murphy 200 free junior, Lucy Farmer 50 butterfly Junior, Joss Ulyett 100 Breaststroke Senior, 200 Breaststroke Senior and 200IM Senior.
CMK swimmers also broke seven ONB County records and 14 club records.
Developments to the club’s blossoming junior programme have started to bear fruit with many young swimmers featuring in finals and performing strongly.
Congratulations to Amy Delderfield, Anabelle Sivills, Matt Sturgess, Jack Edwards, Jayden Hill, Marcus McAuliffe, Jaimie Haans, Ellie McManus, Edie Patey, Mia Murphy, William Barry and Brayden Ditchfield-Watkins for performing so well as a group.
CMK swimmers have been consistently strong in the County Championships in the Youth and Senior categories and this year was no exception.
The highlight, said Head Coach Greg Buck, was possibly on the final Sunday morning with the Men’s 4x100 medley team breaking the county record followed by the Women’s 4x100 free team going under 3 mins 50 for the first time.
Individual County Champions were Max Murphy, Lucy Farmer, Oliver Lines, Ryan Anscomb, Matt Masters, Isobel Jones, Emily Jones and Jocelyn Ulyett.
CMK finished second in the overall points behind a strong Oxford team, despite reduced competition programmes for many swimmers due to illness or prioritising other meets.
