Three swimmers braved the choppy waters in Southsea as they raced in the Pier to Pier endurance event, rounding off the open water season.
Bethany Barby, Christian Revell and Emma Joyce, from City of Milton Keynes Swimming Club, have all had fantastic seasons in the open water.
Bethany competed in her first ever open water race this season, and came fourth in the Brighton 1km.
Both Bethany and Emma competed in the Galeforce Mass Start Series at Bedford, both winning gold medals – Bethany in the 1500m and Emma in the 3.8km.
Emma then went on to take part in the Great London Swim and with over 2000 competitors was first woman home and a very creditable seventh overall.
Christian and Emma also both claimed silver medals in the Eastbourne Maritime 2km Championships.
The season culminated in the trio competing in the Southsea Pier to Pier 2km, enduring torrential rain and choppy seas making it tough for the swimmers.
Despite the hazards, Emma and Christian both finished in first place in their age groups, with Bethany coming fourth.
Elsewhere, several CMKSC members took part in Hillingdon’s Autumn Sprints Level 3 long course meet.
The club had 24 medallists, including six who won golds in the pool.
The winners were Lauren Mayson, Ellie Ward, Cooper Tomkins, Connell Keegan, Marcus McAuliffe and Emily Skinner.
