Greenelys Monarchs remain top after crushing MK Walking Wounded 9-1 in one of the best matches of the season.

Monarchs were flattered by the scoreline though with half the sets going to a decider and Steve Silk saving five match points in an 19-17 victory in the fifth game against Dave Murphy. Dan Appanna continued his excellent form and joined Steve on a maximum whilst WW’s consolation win came from Dave at the expense of Dan Smalley.

Second placed MK Spinners beat MK Phoenix 10-0 but Tim Cheek was taken to a fifth game each time. Terry Lau got closest to breaking through by reaching 9-10 in the decider before losing the final point. Alan Cherry and Craig Brown joined Tim with maximums.

MK Kingpins fought out a well earned draw with MK Sasaki after Dave Foster filled in for them whilst simultaneously playing for his own Division 1 team MK Rovers on an adjacent table. Dave notched up a win over Thai-Anh Lieu with the only maximum here coming from Sasaki’s Matt Evans.

Greenleys Kings had to call on the services of Div 2’s Scott Dixon to still managed to squeeze past MK Powers 6-4 thanks to a Henry Arthur maximum. Powers’ Peter Tillotson tripled his season’s wins tally with a brace that included a fine win over Guy Sparrow.
