MK Spinners sit atop the MK Table Tennis League’s Premier Division after a crushing 10-0 win over MK Phoenix.

Peter Bannister got off the mark for MK Walking Wounded against Greenleys Monarchs and followed up by beating one of MKTTL’s top players, champion Shandor Czuczor.

But despite a late rally MK Walking Wounded went down 6-4 in the match.

MK Kingpins were lucky to get away with a draw against MK Sasaki after two of their members were struck with flu-like symptoms.

Mark Purcell and Dave Allison managed to scrape one win when Mark came back from match point down to beat James Tapp.

Julian Adams took a maximum and dragged Mark through the doubles win. For Sasaki, Thai-Anh Lieu and Ed Simms took 2 apiece.

Greenleys Kings beat MK Powers 9-1 with a fine win coming from Minesh Pitamber over Guy Sparrow, leaving maximums for Joe Lindsay and Shane Gayles.

Mursley Swifts continued their winning run in Division 4 with a 6-4 victory over Little Horwood Tops even though Paul Rickard managed a treble for Tops. Other games in this division were all very close. Stony Crickets managed a draw with MK Cavaliers with Max Reuther again winning all 3 of his sets for Crickets. Bernard Green had a treble for Musketeers against OU Penguins and James Becket did the same for Chackmore Wannabees over Mursley Meths. Both Musketeers and Wannabes won 6-4.

Division 5 leaders Greenleys Crusaders managed a 6-4 win over MK Flames but man of the match Martin Vowles (Flames) inflicted the first defeats of the season on Adam Ward and Colin Haddon continuing his 100% record. David Fletcher (Greenleys Dukes ) and Charlie Rabe (MK Sharks) both had trebles in theirs teams victories.

The top 3 teams in Division 6 all had victories and only 2 points separate Woburn Sands Rams, Mursley Magpies and MK Allsorts.

Division 7 is being dominated by MK Braves who had yet another 10-0 win over OU Newcomers. Newcomers Nai Li managed the only 2 games won on the night against Abhay Tijare. All other games were victories in 3 straight games for Braves. Little Horwood Frigates had their first victory 6-4 against MK Miracles with Geoff Chapman winning his 3 sets for Frigates.

MK Rovers and MK Pumas are well clear of the rest in Division 1. MK Bandits won 7-3 against MK Topspin (Dave Buckley and Mike Wilkins trebles) and Woburn Sands Data recorded a good victory 7-3 away against a strong Greenleys Eagles side with Rob McPheat and James Molloy also gaining trebles.

Jacob Midson of Greenleys Warriors won all 3 of his sets against Division 2 leaders St Christopher Van Hire including a 3 game victory over previously unbeaten Paul Haigh. Chackmore Hasbeens won 7-3 against Blackadders with several games going to the 5th leg. For the home side, Chris Whitehead won 2, including recovering from 3-7 down in the 5th leg against Richard Pringuer to win by 11-9. Bub Burman won 2 and lost to Frank Whitely. Sam Willett won all 3 for the home side, despite being pushed hard in 5 legs by Richard and holding Mike Howard off to 15-13 in the 4th leg. Frank was surprised and delighted to beat Bub (for the first time ever) but Richard was unlucky to come away without a win.

MK Blades are pulling clear in Division 3 although Stewart Tate fought hard for MK Shambles to beat Brian Evans and Robin Wakefield, both in 5 games in their 2-8 defeat.
