With batting partner Vicram Sohal, the pair took Stony from 90-2 to 260-3 when Sohal fell for 74 as Stony finished with a flurry on 298-4.

The response was slow and steady from Oundle.

Kamran Anwar took 4-46, but while the home side were well behind the run rate, Stony struggled to take the decisive wickets.

In the end, despite a flurry of late wickets, Oundle held on to take a losing draw, leaving Stony to ponder what might have been.

The result means Stony remain just one place above the Premier Division drop zone in 11th, but are just 12 points from seventh spot.
