Times tumble as athletes go the distance

MMKAC runners were involved in three distance races.

In the Great Eastern Half Marathon at Peterborough seasons bests came from Tom Comerford, 34th with a time of 74.42 from a field of over 4000 finishers. Steve Herring finished 43rd(12thM40) in 75.43 whilst Ian Lamb closed in 140th(82.24) and 10th in the M50 category. Linsey Ryall clocked 89.04, 8th F35 lady.

The Oxford half-marathon saw Victoria Kirschner-Heaven run a personal best of 104.01, placing 1843rd from the huge field of over 7500. Further back came Dushen Naidoo, 3038th with a time of 114.29.

There were nine local athletes competing in the annual Ridgway Run from Tring, an undulating 15km multi-terrain race covering parts of Ashridge Woods and sections of the Ridgway National Trail.

Russell Jones led them home. 71st with a finishing time of 69.51. Paul Mason placed 5th M60, 110th overall(73.34). Maria Calleia was first MK lady, 189th(79.05) and 16th F35. Close behind came Deborah Hindmarch, 213th but 3rd F55 lady(80.13). Kevin Church finished 268th(82.35), Jim Miller 275th(83.52) and 16th M60.

Leah Hartwell placed 372nd(91.03), Hazel Cockerill 427th(93.51) and Karen Bugaj 471st(101.09). There were 546 finishers.
