Zialor flies to dominant gold

In the U20s triple jump, the MMKAC athlete leapt 12.54m, a sizeable 88cm ahead of the second placed athlete.

It capped an excellent event for MMKAC, as they also picked up three bronze medals.

On day one Kayleigh Presswell not only took the bronze medal in the senior ladies hammer but further improved her club record for the second consecutive week.

She added almost a metre to her throw of 56.10m at Chelmsford throwing 57.09 at Lee Valley. Jonathan Pownall then joined Kayleigh as a bronze medallist setting a personal best of 58.61m in the under 20 men’s javelin.

This added over 2metres to his previous best of 56.38m. Then on day two Aaron Adam stormed to another bronze in the senior men’s 200m with a season’s best time of 22.06. He placed 2nd in his semi-final with 22.22.

On day one Aaron set a PB of 11.01 in his heat of the 100m and clocked 11.18 in his semi-final but not quite fast enough to make the final.

Ebony Carr was agonisingly 2/100ths off a podium place in the under 20’s 100m final. She won her heat in 12.19 and ran marginally quicker in the final clocking 12.13 for fourth position.

Her training companion Lizzie Adam further improved her PB in the under 20 ladies 400m heats with a time of 58.49 and the 8th fastest all-time over this distance. Unfortunately in the final she slipped to 7th place with a time of 60.47.

There were two other MMKAC ladies in the hammer event and saw Laeken Impey throw 46.63m and Emma Beardmore 46.18m for 6th and 7th places respectively.

Paige Barnes threw a near season’s best of 39.66m for 7th place in the under 20 hammer final. Finally Sophie Botham placed 5th in the under 20’s 800m with a time of 2.26.15.

The Buckinghamshire Schools Championships were held at Stantonbury and no less than 17 MMKAC coached athletes won titles. In the year 7 girls events, Lara Moffat(Ousedale) won the shot with both a Championship and MMKAC club record of 10.02m whilst Charlotte Underwood(Denbigh) won the 800m in 2.29.1 setting another Championship Best performance.

In the corresponding boys 800m Jack Rose(Royal Latin) won with a time of 2.28.2.

Moving up to the junior girls age group, Jasmine Trapnell(Stantonbury) won the hammer throw, with 37.23m just short of her PB whilst Montana Edghill(Oakgrove) won the 800m in 2.24.1, again just shy of her PB set a week earlier on the same track.

The junior boys events produced a double for Ethan Wiltshire(Hazeley) winning both the 100m(11.6) and long jump(5.94m).

In fact in his heat he went even faster with a time of 11.5 and a Championship Best Performance. James Palmer(Shenley Brook End) won the shot with a personal best throw of 10.43m

Eight titles were won in the Inter Girls events. The star here was Sade Ross (St Pauls)with a double

in the throws, winning the hammer with a Championship Best Performance of 45.43mm and the shot with 12.21m.

Both lateral jumps were won by local athletes, Molly Adams(Ousedale) leaping 5.10m in the long jump and Iris-Mae Morse(Sir Henry Floyd) triple jumping 10.77m in this discipline.

On the track Tia Morris(Denbigh) won the 100m(12.7), Enya Deysel (Denbigh) the 800m(2.25.0), Emma Mears(Oakgrove) the 1500m(4.54.7) and Georgia Flawn-Thomas(Stowe) the 3000m(11.06.3).

Finally there were two titles won in the Inter Boys events, Alfie Yabsley(Stantonbury) winning the 800m(2.00.0) and Toby Ravillious(Shenley Brook End) the long jump with a leap of 5.98m.
