“I take great pleasure in touching brush to crisp white paper and watching the paint take on a life of its own,” Laura says.

“I try to push boundaries with colour, using vibrant and clashing colours that shouldn’t work together but somehow do.

“I hope that through my work the viewer will gain a deeper appreciation for the beauty found in nature, and maybe even feel inspired to pick up a brush themselves and discover the joys of paint!”

Laura was born and raised in the Yorkshire Dales which has proven quite the inspiration for her creativity.

“I have always loved animals and nature, and growing up in a farming family surrounded by wildlife and rugged landscape has provided me with lots of inspiration,” she said. And this beautiful piece (above) proves the point perfectly we think.

“The natural world is full of colour and texture, which I enjoy trying to create in my own work.”

See more examples at the exhibition which carries through to June 5th.

Admission is free.
