Manchester art rock quartet Everything Everything will headline Esquires next year as part of a new fund-raising campaign to get big names into small music venues across the country.

The gig is part of the Passport Back To Our Roots initiative and one of four which has been announced at venues across the country.

Esquires owner Gareth Barber said: “We are delighted to announce that Everything Everything will be gracing the Esquires stage in 2021 as part of Passport: Back to Our Roots - putting huge artists into grassroots venues to support them through this tough time.

    “We had the band booked for April of this year for their tour warm up and were gutted when we knew it wasn't going to happen.

    “We're very grateful that the band remembered us and chose to play the venue as part of this, which says a lot about them and their support for small venues. Thank you to Music Venue Trust for helping make this happen too.”

    Everything Everything released their latest album A Fever Dream in 2017 and are due to release its successor Re-Animator this year.

    The band has twice been shortlisted for the Mercury Music Prize and previously received five Ivor Novello Awards nominations.

    The other gigs which have been announced so far include Elbow who will be playing at Manchester’s Night & Day Café, Public Service Broadcasting who will be playing at the Amersham Arms in London and The Slow Readers Club who will be playing The Trades Club in Hebden Bridge.

    Tickets will be available via a prize draw which opens on Monday, August 17 at 10am.

    Fans will be able to make a minimum of a £5 donation to the campaign via Crowdfunder link below.

    Winners will receive two tickets to the gig and need photo ID on the night to gain entry.

    All of the gigs are ‘date TBC’ and will only happen when it’s safe for them to happen again.

    They will not be live-streamed from an empty room or held under ‘social distancing’ conditions.

    Organisers expect they will take place between March and September next year.
