ORION AND THE DARK

Stantonbury Theatre, Saturday, 2.30pm

Orion and the Dark is a fantastic story about facing your fears. Full of humour, trust and friendship, it is based on the award-winning picture book by Emma Yarlett. Orion is scared of more or less everything. He’s terrified of wasps and monsters, afraid of sheds and storms, panicked by spiders and fearful of heights. But there is one thing that scares him more than anything else – most of all, he’s scared of the dark. Join Orion on an adventure as he faces his biggest fear and finds out it’s friendly. Suitable for ages three to eight.

    Get a bird’s eye view of Salcey Forest and the adjoining woodlands of Yardley Chase from the Tree Top Way, which rises to 15 metres above the woodland floor, with a crow’s nest platform at 20 metres, reached by steps.

    It is also accessible for wheelchairs.

    All ages are welcome to take part in the Big Fun Run. Run for fitness, run for charity or run for fun.

    Big Fun Run is a series of 5K untimed runs staged in scenic settings throughout the UK from July to October.

    Entry costs £15.49 for adults and £13.49 for children and senior citizens, and under-fives can take part for free.

    WHY THE WHALES CAME

    Wizard Presents, in association with Watford Palace Theatre, present Why The Whales Came by Michael Morpurgo. Why The Whales Came stars multi award-winning performer and storyteller, Danyah Miller. It is full of fun, mystery and adventure and is suitable for ages seven and over.

    Applications are now open for MK Gallery’s MK Young Filmmaker of theYear 2016 competition. Submit a short film between 15 seconds and three minutes in length, in response to the theme of MK’s green, play and open spaces. Entrants must be four to 19 years old on November 4 2016.
