It’d be rude not to.

The Bedford Jazz Festival returns this weekend, with 20 or so artists performing at venues across the town, at venues including The Corn Exchange and The Quarry Theatre.

New York-based trumpeter and Blue Note artist Ambrose Akinmusire and his quartet will headline at The Quarry Theatre on Saturday night (tickets £15).

It’s a bit of a scoop too, this one; it is the last date on the group’s European tour, and the sole English date.

Wrapping things up on the Sunday will be the perfect partnership of Jacqui Dankworth and Charlie Wood.

Join the acclaimed singer and pianist team in the main auditorium at The Corn Exchange when they perform their Just You, Just Me project, which celebrates some of the great musical partnerships of the 20th century.

Additionally, the new inclusion of a community stage offers a platform to local musicians, and is a free entry staging.
