A fundraiser went live on GoFundMe this morning (March 16) in the hopes enough money can be raised to fund Woburn Sands Festival, this summer.

Bands will be waiving their performance fees and a venue has been secured, but additional costs still need to be covered.

The fundraiser has a target of £5,000 for insurance, sound and medical costs, as well as for funds portaloos are needed.

Before the Coronavirus halted the ability of communities to come together for shared events. Woburn Sands Festival was a free one-day, family-themed festival supplying a day of live music and local food in the Summer.

The festival provides an opportunity to showcase Milton Keynes bands. The Moles, Stampede and Steve Winch & The Inception are among the local bands that have performed previously.

Charities supported by the festival in the past include: Willen Hospice and Sports Traider.

The festival is slated to return on the last Bank Holiday Weekend of the Summer on August 28 to 29.

Gill Brooke, the festival organiser had the following message on her fundraising page, stating: "I/We have organised many events before, but this is an ambitious project which will run for 2 days over the august bank holiday weekend.

"Please help us by donating as little or as much as you would like too, it would mean the world to the Woburn Sands Community and our local charities, and certainly to me."
