Milton Keynes St George's Day Festival family fun day photos - can you spot yourself?

Hundreds turned out for the annual shindig at Wrest Park in Silsoe, which brought together live entertainment along with shows, battles, games, performances and activities culminating in England’s most legendary battle.

Visitors were able to cheer on gallant St George as he mounted his mighty steed to take on his fiery green nemesis in the ultimate, dramatic show down.

There was also a chance to support the legendary medieval jousts, marvel at the splendour of an imperial Roman infantry display, meet a cheeky jester and watch a display of medieval weaponry.

There was plenty to keep the children entertained with junior jousting and the chance to become a heroic knight in the Children’s Melee, plus have a go at circus skills, Victorian games, a First World War obstacle course, and interactive music workshops.

Others put their skills to the test at the Fool School to see if they had got what it takes to become St George’s fool.

The new Second world War themed activities offered the chance to get up close with American and German soldiers and visit the German HQ. Alternatively people got the chance to wander through living history encampments to discover what life was like for the English more than 500 years ago including the Norman Roman, and Elizabethan era as well the English Civil War.

There was also an interactive family performance of a mini Victorian adventure about Queen Victoria’s life and a gallop through the history of women’s horse riding from side saddles to tweed.
