Motus issue the call to dance in Milton Keynes

And the great news is that on July 9 and 10 they’ll do it all over again.

And right now, organisers are offering opportunities for dancers to step up and get involved.

You need to make a move quickly though as deadlines are well in sight.

Award-winning choreographer Yael Flexer is seeking MK dancers from diverse backgrounds to create a work specific to the Margaret Powell Square.

It will draw on themes from Disappearing Acts, giving participants an exciting insight into the devising process for Flexer and Sandilands latest touring production.

Motus also want to form a group spanning the generations for a new work.

If you think ‘I’m too old for all of that,’ think again – you are just the person Motus organisers are seeking.

And besides, when was the last time you were invited to be involved with an Intergenerational Performance Project and given the opportunity to show that you can still shake a leg?

Professional and emerging companies who would like to showcase new work are also asked to make submissions for the Work in Progress platform.

And lastly, for dancers who have recently graducated from university or conservatoire courses, comes the cunningly titled Graduate Performance Project, giving you chance to experience capoeira before fusing with contemporary dance to create a new performance piece.

> We’ve just time to mention a concert on Saturday by the Polymnia choir, taking place at St Mary and St Giles Church in Stony Stratford.

The ‘high quality amatuer choir’ will be accompanied by pianist Tim Grant Jones and directed by John Byron and will deliver musical delights including Ave Maria, Gershwin’s Summertime and Beethoven’s sole opera Fidelio.
