The Dickies

Bedford Esquires, July 28

Legendary US band The Dickies bring their unique irreverent brand of punk rock hilarity to Bedford. The Dickies endear themselves to audiences with their winningly campy and goofy sense of playful good humour. Last in Bedford supporting the Damned, this is a rare chance to see the US punk band in a small venue.

Del Bromham’s Blues Devils

Cambridge Rock Festival, August 5

His first band Stray have a track included on this week’s triple CD release, I’m a Freak Baby “A journey through the British Heavy Psych & Hard Rock Underground Scene 1968-72” which is well worth a listen to, but Del isn’t on a nostalgic trip, and keeps the blues a-rollin’ with his Devil’s collective next week. Stick with Del for a great time!

A World Away

Craufurd Arms, July 30

MK’s’ A World Away have a new single out, and to celebrate, the boys are taking over The Craufurd Arms this Saturday night. Wake Me up is the title track from their new EP and should see the band build on the already glowing praise they’ve received – take Kerrang! magazine for example: “The tight chemistry and impassioned choruses displayed in their emo tunes proves a promising start to their journey”, they declared issuing a 4k review! “The video (to the song) explores the idea of social inequality in the modern world and displays how it exists in our everyday lives. It’s a story of redemption,” says Ollie. “The main character begins by turning a blind eye to the problems he sees around him. It’s only when he begins to wake up to the world that he realises he is also part of the problem.”
