Gareth Gates is making a welcome return to these parts to star in the work as Willard, and he’ll be joined by Nolan sister Maureen, in the role of Vi Moore. When the film was released in 1984, it became the highest-grossing February release in US film history, and the accompanying soundtrack did the business too – ending the year-long reign of Michael Jackson’s Thriller.

It eventually racked up worldwide sales in excess of 17 million. No matter how you look atit, that’s big business. More than three decades since Footloose first wowed, and it’s back to do the same again. Times have changed, but this piece of work remains the same as it ever was – bursting with youthful spirit, dazzling dance and electrifying music.

If that makes you excited, you are in for a real treat this coming week. Tickets start at £17.50 with shows nightly, and matinees on Saturday and Wednesday.
