Multi-award winning storyteller Danyah Miller vividly brings to life another enchanting tale by Michael Morpurgo, the man responsible for War Horse.
He’s a fan of Danyah too, saying she is “...a storytelling phenomenon. It will be a theatrical tour de force, that’s for sure.”

Footloose

Smash hit musical Footloose has burst back onto the stage in 2016, and arrives here from Monday. Based on the 1984 screen sensation starring Kevin Bacon, it tells the story of Ren, a city boy who has to move to a rural backwater in America where dancing is banned. All hell breaks loose as Ren soon has the whole town up on its feet.

Hide AdGareth Gates is making a welcome return to these parts to star in the work as Willard, and he’ll be joined by Nolan sister Maureen, in the role of Vi Moore. When the film was released in 1984, it became the highest-grossing February release in US film history, and the accompanying soundtrack did the business too – ending the year-long reign of Michael Jackson’s Thriller.
It eventually racked up worldwide sales in excess of 17 million. No matter how you look atit, that’s big business. More than three decades since Footloose first wowed, and it’s back to do the same again. Times have changed, but this piece of work remains the same as it ever was – bursting with youthful spirit, dazzling dance and electrifying music.
If that makes you excited, you are in for a real treat this coming week. Tickets start at £17.50 with shows nightly, and matinees on Saturday and Wednesday.
