NIGHTWATCHING shows Rembrandt’s downfall from wealthy artist to discredited pauper, the consequence of painting the Amsterdam Muskateer Militia, in a piece that became known as The Night Watch.

When he discovered unpleasant facts about the group and wanted to expose them, they ruthlessly manipulated matters and left the artist in tatters.

The film about life, death, art and portrayal is aired this coming Wednesday evening as part of the OU Film Season at The Lecture Theatre at the Open University.
