City Orchestra sound out at Mayor’s concert

MILTON Keynes CIty Orchestra are readying themselves for a certain season highlight this Sunday evening, the annual Mayor of Milton Keynes’ Charity Concert.

The programme will comprise works by Rossini, Part, Grieg and Beethoven, and pianist Noriko Ogawa will be taking the helm as show soloist, with her simply exceptional playability.

Proceeds from the event will be going to Mayor Debbie Brock’s two chosen charities for her year in office – Willen Hospice and Bletchley Park.

Looking forward to the event, Debbie, whose year-long reign in office draws to a close on Tuesday, said: “My thanks to the Milton Keynes City Orchestra for all they bring to our cultural mix and for enabling me to be involved in what will be a truly enjoyable occasion.”

Tickets for the show, at Mk Theatre, start at £10 and rise to £32 and show time is 7.30pm.

Adrian Boynton will host a pre-concert talk at 6.30pm.

>SINGER-Songwriter David Read will lead a concert at the Chrysalis Theatre at Willen on Saturday, to support Alzheimer Research UK.

Folk, blues, rock , pop and inide will all get a loo in at the event, with all monies raised going to the charity.

The concert begins at 6.45pm and tickets range in price from £8 to £30.
