ON Boxing Day, it is quite probable that you will be sick to the back teeth of the in-laws, and turkey.
So far as the turkey is concerned, tough – you should’ve gone veggie.
But with respect to the former, you will be looking for an escape.
A place to go where smiles will replace grimacing, and you can sink a pint without getting disapproving looks.
If some riotous punk and rockabilly shenanigans feature, then so much the better, eh?
In that case, Newport Pagnell watering hole The Cannon is the only place to go, for a big dollop of musical mayonnaise courtesy of The Silver Brazilians.
In 2010 they strutted their stuff left, right and centre and alongside some decidedly cool cats, including The Blockheads, Wilko Johnson and, earlier this month, with New York Doll Steve Conte, but this date could just be the hottest of them all.
The Cannon is something of a petite sweat box!
Things will start warming up at 7.30pm with DJ Del Johnson spinning the tunes that count, before the band arrives for their annual Crimbo shindig at the venue where it all began.
Admission is a fiver after 8.30pm, but get along earlier and you’ll not pay a penny.
As with earlier events of type, this Brazilian show-out will sell out.
We would advise you to get your new crimbo skates on nice and early...
