The heavy, heavy sounds of the new city

Embrace The Tide will bring the noise this weekend
Embrace The Tide will bring the noise this weekend

HEAVY heads can get their fill of style this weekend, and best of all, the dates don’t clash, so go on – indulge in both...

On Friday night, pay a visit to the back room at The Craufurd Arms and the Wolverton venue will reward you with a set by Scottish herberts Flood of Red.

The crimson tide of alternative style (bottom left) will be joined by another mob tipped for big things in 2011 – Hertfordshire’s Heights.

They have been spreading their prog-hardcore and metal for some time now, and have already shown their mettle at festivals numbering Download, Sonisphere and T in the Park.

And they’ve not even given us the debut album yet...not that there is too much longer to wait.

It is expected to drop sometime during April.

Giving a voice to the new city’s music makers at this gig is down to Scared of the Ocean, and Beds based Shadow Factory will open up the gig.

Tickets are £4 and £6, doors open at 7.30pm.

Beatdown Productions are going all out to make a success of their shows at The Pitz.

The venue hasn’t exactly been cooking lately, but these guys are trying to fix that, and they’ve a tasty homegrown topped bill for you on Saturday night, with Embrace The Tide doing the honours.

London-alternatives Midgar will show you what they are made of, while fellow MK-ites Wearewolf will show their gnashers...

Making sure that everything sounds crisp and loud is down to Rock Hard Music with the PA perfection.

Leighton Buzzard mob Paradise Falls will open the night.

Doors open at 7pm, and tickets to the 14+ show are £7.50.

>While we are on the subject of Beatdown, the brand will host a rock and alternative night at the venue on March 18.

Pop the date in your diary...
