Could your team turn £50 into hundreds for childhood cancer support? The Henry Allen Trust urges Milton Keynes to take on the 2027 challenge
MILTON KEYNES — Local charity The Henry Allen Trust is calling on Milton Keynes businesses, schools, sports clubs, and community groups to unleash their inner entrepreneurs and help make a difference for children and families facing cancer.

The charity has officially been selected as one of just 12 beneficiary partners for the prestigious Franklins £50 Challenge 2027, run by leading regional law firm Franklins Solicitors LLP.
The concept is simple but powerful: Franklins Solicitors provides participating teams with a £50 seed fund. Between 23rd February and 29th May 2027, each team is challenged to use their imagination, teamwork, and entrepreneurial flair to grow that initial £50 into as much money as possible—culminating in a celebratory awards ceremony on 23rd June.

Now, The Henry Allen Trust is asking the Milton Keynes community to step up and choose them as their nominated charity.
Real Community Impact
The Henry Allen Trust was created in loving memory of Henry Allen, who passed away in 2013 aged just four years old from stage 4 MYCN amplified neuroblastoma. The charity provides vital emotional, practical, and financial support, along with smiles and wish-granting, to children, teenagers, and families enduring cancer treatment across Milton Keynes and surrounding hospitals.
Every pound grown through the challenge will stay local, directly funding Henry’s Helping Hands, emergency family grants, and granting wishes for children in treatment and their families making precious memories during their hardest moments.
Why get involved?
Whether you are a corporate workplace looking for an impactful CSR project, a school council, or a group of friends who love a creative challenge, the £50 Challenge is designed to bring people together:
For businesses: An ideal team-building exercise that builds employee morale, provides networking opportunities with regional organisations, and enhances local brand visibility.
For schools & colleges: A hands-on financial and enterprise education project that teaches teamwork, planning, and community spirit.
For clubs & groups: A fun, engaging way to run bake sales, quiz nights, sporting challenges, raffles, or craft fairs—as long as it’s safe, legal, and creative, anything goes!
"We are so, so excited about this entire experience," said a spokesperson for The Henry Allen Trust. "Not only will this initiative raise desperately needed funds to support families during the toughest journeys of their lives, but it is also a fantastic two-way partnership for our community. We truly hope it proves hugely beneficial for everyone taking part—raising the profile of the incredible local businesses, schools, and community groups involved while spreading the word about the amazing work happening across Milton Keynes.
"The challenge’s strapline is ‘Start small. Grow big. Make a difference’—and that captures our ethos completely. A single £50 seed fund can blossom into vital care, comfort, and support for a family dealing with childhood cancer in our local area. We can’t wait to see Team Henry out in force and celebrate what our community can achieve together."
