Milton Keynes reaches two-week milestone of no Covid-related deaths

Today's (April 1) update from the UK government shows low new case numbers and a 14th straight day without a reported death.

The latest figures revealed 18 new Coronavirus cases in Milton Keynes a slight rise from the 13 cases confirmed yesterday.

Another day of low case figures means the city's infection rate now stands at 49 cases per 100,000 people. MK's infection rate remains below the national average which stands at 54.5 cases per 100,000.

Across the UK 4,479 new cases were confirmed over the past 24 hours, 51 deaths were recorded.

The latest government figures show 31,147,444 people have received their first jab, whilst 4,513,458 second doses have been administered in the UK. In Milton Keynes over 120,000 vaccinations have been carried out, according to the latest data.
