No new coronavirus cases in Milton Keynes today after nursery reassures the public following outbreak

The government released the figures within the last 30 minutes showing there had been no increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in MK.

It comes after a statement from MK Council's local director of Public Health yesterday following an outbreak of coronavirus at the Acorn day nursery in Westcroft.

The council statement said 20 children and adults from the private nursery had tested positive for Covid-19 over the past week and a half.

And government figures showed no increase today, accounting for the time period between Wednesday 5pm and Thursday 5pm.

In fact there have only been a handful of cases in Milton Keynes since the beginning of June. They say the total number of cases since the start of the pandemic is now 517.

Total number of COVID-19 associated deaths in the UK - people who have died having had a positive test result - now stands at 43,414, an increase of 183.
