Watch as ice-cool murderer is arrested after fleeing home to Milton Keynes and feigning surprise his victim is dead
A controlling and manipulative murderer who strangled and stabbed his partner has been jailed for life.
Imran Uddin, aged 35, strangled Ismail Younis before stabbing him multiple times even after he was dead.
He then left his body in his flat for three days while he coolly acted as though nothing had happened, getting his hair cut, his eyebrows threaded and going out to eat.
West Midland Police say Uddin’s actions were the culmination of his campaign of coercive and violent behaviour towards vulnerable 24-year-old Ismail, who had autism.

The two-year relationship started well but Uddin quickly changed, controlling Ismail’s clothes, appearance and access to his mobile phone. Uddin mocked Ismail’s autism and regularly physically attacked him to assert his control, say officers.
Ismail found evidence that Uddin was cheating on him and told Uddin he wanted to leave him hours before he was killed.
On August 17, CCTV showed how Uddin followed him to Birmingham city centre, repeatedly visiting his workplace until Ismail was last seen on a scooter heading to Ismail’s flat.
There, he strangled Ismail before stabbing him multiple times even after he was dead. His body was not found until August 20.

After killing Ismail, Uddin caught a train from Birmingham New Street to Milton Keynes where he has family.
“Uddin didn’t seem to have a care in the world as he spent the next day getting his hair cut, eyebrows threaded and a bite to eat,” said a West Midlands Police spokesperson,
When he was arrested, Uddin pretended to be shocked when he was told that Ismail was dead, but then refused to answer questions in interview. Police have now released bodycam footage of the arrest.
Later Ismael’s blood was found on his phone and the knife used to stab Ismail was washed and put back in its draw at Uddin’s home.
On Thursday at Birmingham Crown Court, Uddin was found guilty of murder. On Friday, he was given a life sentence and ordered to spend at least 21 years in prison.
Det Sgt Jeanette Roberts, from our Homicide Unit, said: “Ismail’s was life was taken by a coercive, controlling and manipulative partner.
“Enraged that Ismail had found the strength to take back his independence and end the relationship, he manoeuvred Ismail to his death.
“Uddin’s thoughts have only ever been for himself. He fled the scene and had no intention of facing the consequences of his actions. He has shown no remorse for his actions, or for the pain he has inflicted on Ismail’s family and loved ones.
“By his own agreement in court, he was a toxic narcissist who had to have it all his way.
“I’d like to thank all those who provided us with vital evidence of a pattern of conduct, showing Uddin was a master of disguise.
“A fundamental liar about all areas of his life, he wanted to control and diminish those close to him by whatever means.
“Our thoughts remain with Ismail’s family and friends. Although nothing will bring Ismail back, I hope this verdict can give them some closure.”
Ismail’s family said: “We carry Ismail’s name, his memory and our love for him in our hearts forever.”
