Demolition work begins with a surprise twist at fire-ravaged Pink Punters in Milton Keynes
The demolition of Punk Punters has officially started – with an unexpected twist.
The popular Fenny Stratford nightclub was gutted by a fire that broke out accidently one busy night in April.

More than 1,000 revellers were inside when the fire alarm rang shortly after 2am and they were successfully evacauted.
Owner Frank McMahon, whose family has run Pink Punters for 36 years, hs vowed Pink Punters will be rebuilt and return – but first the piles of wreckage must be cleaned.

Demolition crews moved in this week and were promptly dished up a surprise.
Frank said: “Something unexpected happened this morning. As the demolition team were arriving to begin work, we found something very unexpected…. THE PINK SOFA!”
He added: “The CCTV footage shows that two unidentified individuals had managed to get the Pink Sofa out during the night, fortunately before the demolition started.
“We do not know who they are, we only know that the Pink Sofa was saved! It feels like a miracle.”
The iconic sofa came from the Pink Room and has incredible survived the fire and is expected to feature once more when the club is rebuilt.
As yet there is no indication of the timescale for re-opening, but Frank said: We are so excited to start our new journey so we can all be together again.”
At first it was thought the Pink Punters fire was arson but after a joint investigation between Thames Valley Police and Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service (BFRS), it was declared that "no evidence of criminality was found".
