Enjoy festive fun for all the family at Stony Stratford Christmas lights switch-on
Festive fun for all the family is coming to Stony Stratford in November with its Christmas lights switch-on fun day.
Organised by a committee of volunteers, the day combines a festive light display with a full day of family entertainment.

Switch-on day is scheduled for Saturday November 21, and organisers are urging visitors to get down early to enjoy the entertainment before the main switch-on at 5pm.
WatlingFest, a showcase of local musical talent is taking place on the Market Square stage, with performances from 12.10pm, beginning with Michael Squire, and running through until just before the switch-on, when DJ Dave Tomlin will warm-up the crowd.
There will be a variety of dance activities at the Lych Gate end of the High Street between 10.30am and 3.30pm, including morris dancing groups, Greek dancing from the Delta dancers and a performance from belly dancing group Rashiqa.
Other activities include street food on Market Square, a funfair with rides on both the High Street and Market Square, and Santa’s grotto.
Festive stalls and a street market will be operating throughout the day, while as darkness falls a lantern parade will make its way through Stony Stratford, arriving in Market Square in time for the switch-on at 5pm.
After a switch-on by a special guest, the Acabellas will lead community carol singing to conclude the day’s programme.
More details about the day are available through the event’s website.
