The shop will offer toys, games and puzzles from all the major brands such as LEGO, Barbie and Playmobil as well as Hamleys' own exclusive toy collections.

And there will be expert toy demonstrations and exciting in-store appearances from much-loved characters, promises the centre.

Described as a "bricks and mortar" pop-up, the store will be in Middleton Hall, close to the Peter Rabbit themed Christmas grotto and display. All will open as soon as lockdown ends on Wednesday this week.

Another attraction at this yea's Christmas display will be a festive trail for Instagram lovers, with seven 'selfie-spots' to provide the perfect photo opportunities. Installations at these spots include Rudolph, a giant teddy bear and a snowman.

Santa’s Grotto will be open from December 2 to December 24. It will offer an "immersive theatrical experience" brought to life by actors playing the part of Peter Rabbit and his friends, including Squirrel Nutkin, Mr. Tod and Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle. Each family booking a Santa visit will have the opportunity to spend 25 to 30 minutes enjoying the show within a safe, socially distanced environment.
