Milton Keynes braces for thunderstorm weather warning
A weather warning is in place until 10pm today (August 27), with the risk of thunderstorms and heavy rain leading to disruption.
A ‘broad band of thunderstorms’ and heavy rain will make its way north across England and Wales, possibly becoming slow moving in the afternoon and evening, according to the Met Office.

The weather warning is yellow, with the impact graded as medium and the likeliness as low. It advises that ‘thunderstorms and heavy rain may lead to some disruption’.
The Met Office said that there could be 20-30mm of rain in an hour locally while 30-40mm can be expected fairly widely. The weather warning also suggests that lightning and hail of 1-2cm will be hazards.
The warning is in place for the East Midlands, East of England, London & South East England, North West England, South West England, Wales, West Midlands and Yorkshire & Humber.
