Milton Keynes City Council considering plans to buy larger homes to help people move into permanent accommodation
Milton Keynes City Council says it is considering buying larger homes to help people move into permanent accommodation quicker.
The authority is set to decide next week whether to invest £2.5 million to buy additional council homes to help families currently in temporary accommodation.

The council claims that by buying extra homes, it will give local families faster access to affordable properties.
It is currently working on its programme to build new council homes, with 183 recently built on The Lakes Estate in Bletchley, while construction continues at Acre Lodge in Netherfield, where 66 new council homes will be ready in 2028.
The investment would be funded through Right to Buy receipts and is intended to be used to source larger family homes, where the council says that demand is particularly high.
Cabinet member for housing at Milton Keynes City Council Ed Hume said: “This investment is part of a broader approach to delivering more affordable housing in Milton Keynes.
“Alongside our programme of building new council homes, we're using £2.5 million in Right to Buy receipts to acquire additional properties and help more families access settled, affordable housing.
“We know this will only meet a small part of the demand for housing in our city, which is why we're constantly looking at different ways to make more homes available for the people who need them most."
