Milton Keynes pub to raise money for grieving mum “My whole purpose of life is gone”
A pub quiz on September 17 is raising funds for a grieving mother who is facing financial pressure after losing her daughter and her job.
The Nags Head pub in Great Linford is hosting a music quiz to fundraise for the family of Millie, who sadly passed away on September 7, aged just 22.
Millie had been battling with Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD) - a rare brain disorder that causes a progressive loss of physical and mental skills - since the age of 6-years-old.
Millie’s mother worked as a care worker for her daughter before her passing. Now, on top of dealing with the heart-break of losing her daughter, she is also grappling with the financial pressure of losing her job.

Money from the quiz will go towards paying Millie’s funeral costs and helping to support her family during this difficult time.
The quiz night is being held at 8pm on Thursday, September 17 and tickets are just £2.
Pub bartender, Shannon Willis-Devlin is organising the event. Her partner's mother had worked for nine years as one of Millie’s carers.
Shannon said: “It would mean so much for people to rally together for this family who have suddenly lost their little girl. No one should have to worry about funds after just losing their daughter.”
“I’ve heard about Millie, she was a lovely girl. Everyone who knew Millie always said how amazing she was.”
You can book your team in for the music quiz on September 17, by calling The Nags Head on 01908 607449.
