MK Dons chairman finally puts mystery of super loud Milton Keynes alarm to bed

The chairman of MK Dons has explained why people across the Milton Keynes have been hearing the stadium's alarm.

Readers contacted the Citizen after hearing an unusually loud alarms in the city on a number of occasions, it turned out to be the alarm at the Stadium MK and the Dons chairman, Pete Winkelman has apologised if it has caused a nuisance to residents.

He said: "It's a really important siren and gives me huge confidence when it goes off!

"The stadium is closed at the moment, but it's a really big building and we have really sensitive fire and intruder alarms.

"When it normally goes off, we have people in the right places at the right time so we very rarely go into full alarm.

"But when there aren't as many people there, not at the control panel, we go into the full alarm and everyone in Milton Keynes hears it!

"So I've been getting a lot of calls telling me 'Pete, your alarm is going off!'

"Apologies if it is causing a nuisance but I'm glad it's making that noise!"
