Recycling centre in Milton Keynes reopen after fire in refuse container
A recycling centre in Milton Keynes is now reopen to the public after a fire broke out in a refuse container this afternoon (July 10).
Bucks Fire and Rescue Service said that three fire crews were called to Bleak Hall Recycling Centre, after a blaze involving a large refuse container measuring approximately eight metres by two metres, which contained waste metal.

Firefighters were called just after 1.30pm and used breathing apparatus, a hose reel jet and a main jet to tackle the fire.
On-site staff assisted by emptying the metal container using a mechanical grab, which allowed fire crews to fully extinguish remaining hotspots.
Firefighters used thermal imaging cameras to monitor temperatures, which reduced to safe levels.
Bleak Hall Recycling Centre, located at Chesney Wold in Bleak Hall, is one of three recycling centres across the city run by Milton Keynes City Council.
A Milton Keynes City Council spokesperson said: “A small fire in a skip at Bleak Hall Recycling Centre has been safely put out.
"Residents were temporarily redirected to our other recycling centres, and the site reopened at 4.30pm.
"We’d like to thank partners from Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service for their fast response and thank local people for their patience.”
