Students across Buckinghamshire receive training from ambulance staff as part of Restart a Heart Day
Students across Buckinghamshire received training from South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) staff on how to carry out life-saving CPR and use a defibrillator.
The training took place on Friday October 16 as part of Restart a Heart Day, an annual event which aims to help raise awareness of cardiac arrest and support people to learn CPR.

The trust set itself the ambitious goal of training 13,000 students across Buckinghamshire, as well as Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Hampshire, with trust staff, community first responders and co-responders giving up their time to deliver the sessions at around 100 schools.
Paramedic and operations manager at SCAS David Hamer said: “Restart a Heart Day is one of the most important dates in our community engagement calendar because it’s about giving thousands of young people the skills and the confidence to save a life.
“We are incredibly grateful to our community first responders, co-responders, and SCAS staff who are volunteering their time to visit schools across our region.
“Without their commitment, this huge training effort would not be possible.
“Together, we can give more people the chance of surviving a cardiac arrest.”
The trust says that every year there are nearly 30,000 cases where people suffer a cardiac arrest outside of hospital and treatment is attempted, however, less than one in ten people survive.
