The par 3 nine-hole course, the 18 hole course, the driving range and clubhouse will all close on this date.

Over the past year, the facility, which was leased to Wavendon Golf Academy, has faced extremely challenging times. A combination of a wet and prolonged winter and an unusually hot summer, together with detrimental disruption from the nearby Wavendon housing development, have resulted in substantial losses.

The Landowners have provided financial support over the past twelve months to keep the courses open, but it has become no longer financially sustainable. Alternative solutions to allow the golf facility to continue to trade have been unsuccessful and all options exhausted.

The announcement was made to the golf course members on Wednesday 26 September and staff notified prior to this. All financial obligations and membership fees have been settled where appropriate and the courses and facilities will remain functional until Wednesday 31st October, with an expected last tee-off between 12.30 and 1pm.

“We are incredibly sorry to have to make this announcement,” said a company spokesperson.

“The past twelve months have been very hard, and I know this is absolutely the last option. We thank the members and staff for their support during this period.”

Proposals for the redevelopment of the land North of Lower End Road are currently being prepared for submission to MKC. In April 2015, planning permission was issued by Milton Keynes Council for a residential development of up to 400 homes.
