Surge in people turning to the stars for guidance

We are living in uncertain times ... and many people across the UK are turning to the stars and the ancient art of astrology to seek some guidance.

A new survey of over 1,000 adults across the country revealed that more than one in three Brits regularly consult their horoscopes to find out what the universe has in store for them on a certain day.

The research was conducted by mediumchat.co.uk, whuch has seen a 104 per cent increase in horoscope inquiries made through its website since UK’s lockdown announcement was made in March.

Their study found that 42 per cent of British adults have found some truth in past horoscope readings, such as an accurate prediction of an event or state of mind.

As many as one in four adults admit they have previously made decisions based on their horoscope reading, with 22 per cent saying a horoscope reading has helped them to make up their minds about an issue.

According to the findings, one in four millennials admit they have made a decision at or about their work based on a reading, with 19 per cent stating they have considered looking for a new job because their horoscope suggested it may be a good idea.

Avid fans of astrology will be aware that various star signs are believed to be more compatible together than others.

The survey also found that 32 per cent of women have previously looked up a potential partner’s star sign to see if it was compatible with their own.

This trend is particularly popular amongst women aged 18-35, with 42 per cent of this age group saying they have done this at one time or another.

Diana Davies of mediumchat.co.uk, said: “Humans have been turning to astrology for guidance since the Babylonian times, when the movements of the moon, sun and stars were first tracked and recorded in detail.

“During this difficult time especially, astrology can provide great comfort and guidance to those who fear the unknown or who simply feel lost.

“Geminis in particular are known to struggle with decision-making, and so those born under this star sign are likely to find the wisdom of astrology extremely beneficial during this time.”

Astrology sees the human race as being influenced by hereditary factors and the environment, but also by the solar system and the positioning of the planets at the moment we are born.

Planets are seen as life-forces, which take on many different forms, depending on their zodiacal position and on the way they relate to one another at any time.

By interpreting the roles of the planets and the elements, signs and houses, astrology can create a full and informed picture of any one person and his or her basic potential, based on the natal horoscope.
