Kevin, who was born and raised in Bletchley, launched McCarthy’s Sports Bar this weekend in the town;s Chandos Place.

It boasts 10 widescreen HD television screens, which means customers can never miss a moment of live sport. There’s also a 6ft projector screen to do large sporting events justice.

“Live football, UFC, boxing, rugby, cricket, Formula One; we show the lot,” said former pro boxer Kevin, who has himself fought live on Sky Sports.

He said the bar has subscriptions to both Sky Sports and BT Sport so half the customers can watch one channel while the other half can watch another. There are also plans to equip the outside seating area with a huge 79 inch screen this summer.

Kevin is running the bar with the help of his identical twin sons, Jesse and Callum, who are both champion amateur boxers, as well as his daughters and his partner Angela.

The family took over the premises from Kevin's mother and it was formerly called the Park Guest House Pub.

After a total revamp, the walls are now lined with signed photos of sporting legends and vintage boxing and football memorabilia is on show. The bar has pool tables, gaming machines and dartboards as well as a fully

Kevin said: “In all my years here, I’ve never seen a proper sports bar. The population of this town is increasing, and we need a great local place with a great atmosphere.”
