After six long months, Dons are back in League One action this Saturday against Doncaster Rovers.

Dons’ record against Rovers is not favourable down the years, winning just two of their 12 encounters since 2004, losing six and drawing four.

While Dons were unlucky to draw 1-1 at the Keepmoat Stadium last season, they lost 1-0 at Stadium MK - the final game before lockdown.

"It's a tough start," said Russell Martin. "We had a really good game there and then a tough one here at home. They're a good team, but we're all just excited to get playing again.

"We've got a real belief in the players and what we've got. We're going there to try and win it, expecting a real intensity from my players. I cannot guarantee results or performances, but we'll go into every game trying to win it, sticking to what are and what we're about.

"With no supporters it will be different and unique for a little bit but it's up to us to adapt to that."

Bookmakers have Dons at 12/5 to win, Rovers at 11/10 and 12/5 the draw.

Andy Haines will be the man in the middle at the Keepmoat Stadium. He handed out 84 yellow cards and eight reds in 32 games last season. Dons fans last saw him a little under a year ago at their last away win - the 3-0 triumph over Blackpool. Haines will be assisted by Steven Rushton and Alistair Nelson, the fourth official will be Alan Clayton.
