MK Dons have picked up a 'significant' fee in the sale of Rhys Healey to Toulouse, and have success clauses which could potentially bring in even more money, Andrew Cullen has confirmed.

While the club are bound by a confidentiality agreement to not reveal how the deal is structured or indeed the fee for the 25-year-old, the Executive Director said figures estimating the price of the deal are purely speculation.

He said: "We structured a deal which not only protects our interests in the immediate future, but going forward, it gives the club potential and significant upsides if both Toulouse and the player succeed. Toulouse are a club which have been taken over by a billionaire, they have huge resources and are fast becoming one of the biggest clubs in France.

"We have got a very, very good deal going forward. There are figures being quoted in the press - don't pay attention to that. It's all speculation.

"We had a confidential agreement. Transfer fees are bound in a financial agreement, and those details are strictly confidential and both parties are bound by that, and if that deal comes out, you can compromise the structure of the deal, future payments or sell-on clauses can be compromised. We're not at liberty to be as transparent on the fee we've achieved, and the future fees we've achieved.

"People can speculate, be close to the truth or be a million miles away, but that's why we cannot disclosed as much information as we'd like to."

Mr Cullen confirmed the money from the sale, and indeed that of Alex Gilbey to Charlton two weeks ago, will be reinvested into Russell Martin's squad, adding: "We definitely will be using the investment from the sale of players over the summer to make us stronger and I hope over the next few days or weeks it takes.

"Russ has identified a number of players he wants to bring in, some significant salaries or transfer fees might be paid, and now we'll be able to accelerate those forwards we couldn't have done before."
