Owls swoop for ex-Dons keeper Trueman
The shot-stopper has joined another League One side
Former MK Dons goalkeeper Connal Trueman has joined League One side Sheffield Wednesday.
The 30-year-old spent 18-months at Stadium MK, making 20 appearances in all competitions after his move from Millwall in January 2025. He made seven outings last term, with the majority of them coming in the EFL Trophy.
Departing at the end of his contract in the summer, the former Birmingham City and Crawley man has penned a deal with the Owls.
“It's a massive club and at the moment especially, it feels like a really good time to be here,” Trueman said. “I think you can really feel the buzz around the place and you can feel there is the start of a new chapter, a new era, and I'm buzzing to be here and be a part of that.
“We are going to go for promotion this year, that's what it's all about, so anytime that's dangled in front of you, it's really, really exciting.”
Wednesday’s sporting director Simon Wilson said: “Connal is a player that we are familiar with and he arrives with terrific references on and off the pitch - he is a talented goalkeeper and another great character to add to the group.
“He was part of a promotion-winning team last year and understands the daily standard required to be successful. We are delighted to welcome him to Sheffield Wednesday and add him to our squad ahead of the new season.”
