Waller targeting regular first-team football on loan at Wealdstone
The young defender will spend the remainder of the season in the National League
Defender Charlie Waller will spend the rest of the season on loan at Wealdstone.
The 20-year-old was not long back at MK Dons following the end of his one-month loan at National League side Rochdale, where he made four appearances, four of them three starts to help them to second in the standings, before returning out on loan.
While used in parts last season, Waller has made only one appearance for Dons this season, playing the full 90 minutes at Ashton Gate in the Carabao Cup defeat to Championship side Bristol City in August.
He makes the move to Grosvenor Vale for the remainder of the season to further grow his experience, having also featured 22 times in the fifth tier for Sutton United last season.
Sporting director Liam Sweeting said of the loan: “After recently returning from his loan at Rochdale, we are pleased to have presented Charlie with another loan opportunity so quickly. This is testament to his performances and reputation at the level.
“It is crucial that he continues to gain minutes at a competitive level and further his development. He has already had several very successful loan moves, and we're sure this will also be the case at Wealdstone.
“I know that Charlie is now eager to put a run of games together and we’re pleased to be working with Wealdstone again, a club we know well and with such a great set-up behind the scenes.
“We look forward to keeping in touch with Charlie and tracking how he gets on.”
Teenager Rian Silver has also departed the club, joining Southern League Division One side Biggleswade Town on loan. Silver featured for Dons twice this season, both in the Vertu Trophy.
