Cameron Jerome is out of contract

Six players have the option to remain at MK Dons next season, but Russell Martin says he will move on sooner rather than later as he looks to strengthen his side for the new season.

The manager is in talks with Laurie Walker, Ben Gladwin, Josh McEachran, Andrew Surman, Matthew Sorinola and Cameron Jerome with regards to remaining at the club, and hopes to secure many of them before moving on with his recruitment this summer.

But Martin admitted there is only so much time he is willing to wait before his attentions will turn to replacing the players.

He said:L “The offers last a certain amount of time, but I’ll be in regular contact, I’m not just going to leave it until the deadline. We’ll work out what is involved in their decision, whether it’s family, travel, moving.

“They all have a certain time to give us an answer by. I’m aware of all of their issues. They’re all brilliant people, we’re open with them all.”
