Dons fell two goals behind to goals from Marlon Jackson and a penalty from former Dons midfielder Mark Randall before Dean Bowditch emerged from the bench with a brace, either side of a Ben Tilney screamer. Here's what happened to the team which started in Wales that day.
5. Ben Tilney
Looked like a realistic replacement for Dean Lewington at left-back, especially after his screamer in the second half squared things up at Rodney Parade. But after Robbie Neilson claimed he 'fell out of love' with football, Tilney left the club and now plays in Northern Ireland.
6. Giorgio Rasulo
On the fringes of the team for a long time, Rasulo never established himself as a regular in the side. Leaving Dons six years after his debut, Rasulo spent time at Banbury United before joining Dele Alli's backroom staff.
7. Connor Furlong
Made his Dons debut in the Championship, but the game against Newport would be his final appearance. Released in summer 2018, Furlong now plays for Barton Rovers.
8. David Kasumu
Has enjoyed a breakout season this year in the centre of midfield. Still only 20, Kasumu signed a new long-term deal with the club recently, and scored a screamer against AFC Wimbledon.
