Jack Meijer, studying in the USA at Wisconsin University, running in the Hawkeye Big 10 Invitational Indoor Meeting in Iowa, USA, smashed the MMKAC 3,000m indoor record that he set a year ago.

Lying second with four laps to go, he faded a little over the last lap, recording 8:02.79 in eighth place, to take 16 seconds off the record he set last year.

The time is almost 10 seconds quicker than the club outdoor record.

Back on home soil, Laura Zialor opened her season by High Jumping 1.74m at an Elite Athletes’ Indoor Meeting at Loughborough, in preparation for the UK Trials to be held next weekend.
