Another cheerleading triumph for Milton Keynes as Unity Allstars MK impress in Europe
"To finish fourth at the first-ever European Summit and come so close to a medal in such a large division is something we're incredibly proud of”
Milton Keynes-based cheerleading club Unity Allstars MK has made history after competing at the inaugural European Summit, one of the most prestigious events in international all-star cheerleading.
The club delivered an outstanding performance in the highly competitive Under-18 Level 2 division, finishing an incredible fourth place out of 23 teams – the largest division at the event. Unity narrowly missed out on a podium finish by just 0.14 points, highlighting the exceptional standard of competition and the team's remarkable achievement on the European stage.
The result marks another milestone in what has already been a hugely successful season for the club, which continues to establish itself as one of the leading cheerleading programmes in Milton Keynes and the surrounding area.
Looking ahead to next season, Unity Allstars MK has already secured three bids to the prestigious Allstar World Championship and two bids to the Cheerleading World Championships. These achievements enable the club to offer pathways for both younger athletes at the beginning of their journey wanting to travel and elite athletes competing at Levels 5 and 6 (born in 2013 or earlier), to compete amongst the world's best cheerleading teams.
The club is now actively recruiting talented athletes to strengthen its world-level programmes, with a particular focus on boys and athletes with strong tumbling skills who aspire to compete at the highest level of the sport.
A spokesperson for Unity Allstars MK said: "To finish fourth at the first-ever European Summit and come so close to a medal in such a large division is something we're incredibly proud of. Our athletes have worked tirelessly all season, and this result reflects their dedication, commitment and passion for the sport. With multiple World Championship bids already secured for next season, we're excited to continue developing athletes and providing opportunities to compete on the world stage."
