Stars, suspense and slapstick in MKT autumn season

THE autumn season at Milton Keynes Theatre has been announced with the phenomenal Phantom leading the way for a great season featuring lots of fresh, new shows and a return of old friends.

The long-awaited The Phantom Of The Opera is booked in for five weeks from October and tickets are selling fast. The legendary smash hit The Mousetrap celebrates an incredible 60 years on stage while courtroom drama, Rough Justice with Tom Conti, makes its debut at the venue.

The sexy Chicago returns along with the ever popular tearjerker, Blood Brothers, this time around with Marti Pellow and Niki Evans,

For some light relief don’t miss John Chapman’s rip-roaring comedy Dry Rot with Susan Penhaligon, Gareth Hale and Normal Pace - an odds on winner - while more comedy can be enjoyed from the much-loved Alan Davies, Cornwall’s finest Jethro, chat show top man Milton Jones and fave Jimmy Carr.

For something slightly different there’s Jason Byrne The People’s Puppeteer, the original and best ‘Ukes’ of GB, international treasure Sandy Toksvig , Psychic to the stars Sally Morgan and the hilarious foodies The Hairy Bikers in their Larger than Live Tour.

The English National Ballet return with the world favourite fairy tale, The Sleeping Beauty, and ballroom fans can look forward to Strictly-star, Brendan Cole, as he returns for one night only on in his brand new show Licence to Thrill.

Glyndebourne tour with Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro and Dvorak’s Little Mermaid Rusalka. Classical music fans should also check out Milton Keynes City Orchestra’s The Royal Salute.
