Long Meadow School, in Shenley Brook End, sent out a letter to parents saying it has been advised by Public Health England and Milton Keynes Council to close its Early Years, Year One and Year Two bubble with 'immediate effect'.

The school now has four year group bubbles closed in total after it closed the Year Six bubble on Thursday (September 17).

The recent letter, signed by headteacher Philip Gray, said there would be a deep clean carried out over the weekend just gone (September 18, 19 and 20) in the school.

Current advice, according to the letter, is that Year Three, Year Four and Year Five are safe to attend today (Monday, September 21).

The headteacher said: "With help from Public Health England and Milton Keynes Council, we continue to monitor this fast-moving situation carefully and to ensure that we have appropriate measures in place to reduce transmission.

"We are so disappointed for your families that we have had to take these measures at a time when some normality was returning for our pupils. However, we all have a duty to follow the guidance and reduce transmission of the Covid-19 in the community."
