Milton Keynes restaurant among winners at prestigious awards
A Milton Keynes restaurant was named best in the region at the British Bangladeshi Business Awards, and its owner was praised for his work in the community.
Hosted by journalist and author Suzanne Virdee, the awards celebrated business achievements, top restaurants and community work of those connected to Bangladeshi communities across the UK, renowned for their curry houses.

Four Pillars Tandoori in Olney was named Best Restaurant for Milton Keynes.
Business owner, Babul Ahmed, arrived in England in 1997, and worked his way from waiter to master chef before taking over the restaurant.
The judges said: "Renowned for exquisite culinary creations and tireless charity work supporting local hospices and foundations, Babul is a true community champion."
Over 500 guests attended a glittering awards ceremony which took place in Birmingham on Sunday, October 25. The event was held in New Bingley Hall with Amnesty International as a charity partner.
Dr Mish Rahman, head of Desh Foundation UK, which organised the BBBAs, said: “These awards recognise outstanding businesses, and the latest successes in the British Bangladeshi community are an inspiration. They show why you should dream bigger, work harder and contribute more to society.
“Every nominee and finalist made us feel proud. These awards aim to encourage enterprise, promote investment and build bridges between the UK and Bangladesh.”
