An Indian restaurant in The Hub Milton Keynes has closed until further notice due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Maaya Indian Kitchen & Bar, who offered customers a free toilet roll with every takeaway order last week, decided to close on Wednesday, March 18, following the Prime Minister's announcement to close schools.

In a statement on the restaurant's facebook page, The Maaya team said: "This is possibly the hardest post we’ve had to write, but we must. After tonight (Wednesday 18 March), we will close Maaya at 10pm and until further notice.
"Tonight’s announcement from the Prime Minister to close schools from Friday is now the right time for US to make bold choices and difficult decisions – and ultimately do what’s right for our community and for our staff.
"For four wonderful years our families have given us their unquestionable support and it’s now more important than ever to be by their side and give them the support they have given us.
"We are incredibly sorry for those that had booked Mother’s Day lunch with us, Mo will be calling each and everyone one of you tomorrow to explain and apologise. We hope you understand.

"These are unprecedented times and we need the government, Milton Keynes Council and The Hub landlord to help us and our neighbours through this hard time so we can come back fighting. Without this, we won’t open again.
"Lastly, thank you. Thank you to every single person that has supported us, you’re the reason we love what we do.
"We’ll miss you for now but we hope to see you again in better times. Take care of each other."
