Huge new 'Logistics City' warehouse reaches completion in Milton Keynes - but no hint about who will occupy it

A major new state-of-the-art warehouse development has this week reached completion, but there is still no hint of what company will occupy it.

The 125,647 sq ft Logistics City building stands in Michigan Drive in Tongwell, close to the M1, and boasts a green roof, Grade A office space and even a ‘break-out’ area in its yard for workers.

Kier Property purchased the six acre site in 2024 and set about demolishing the exisiting smaller warehouse and office block to make way for its giant plan.

They say the development has been designed to achieve an EPC A+ rating and net zero carbon, with a minimum BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating and the potential to secure an ‘Outstanding’ outcome in the future.

Darren Cheeseman, Kier’s head of industrial and logistics, said this week: “Reaching Practical Completion at Logistics City is a significant milestone for the business and delivering this scheme in line with our business plan keeps us firmly on track and demonstrates our ability to deliver high-quality, sustainable industrial assets at scale.

“Kier Property’s Trade City and Logistics City brands continue to attract strong interest from a diverse range of occupiers and investors, with current schemes in Andover, Bognor Regis, Bracknell, Hemel Hempstead, Maple Cross, St Albans, Sharston, South Wokingham and Manchester.

Kier is one of the UK’s leading infrastructure services, construction and property groups.

Its website states: “Our purpose is to sustainably deliver infrastructure which is vital to the UK, and we are committed to leaving lasting legacies through our work.
